Hard work and it's value

All life demands struggle. Those who have everything given to them become lazy, selfish, and insensitive to the real values of life. The very striving and hard work that we so constantly try to avoid is the major building block in the person we are today.
Pope Paul VI

Thoughts for the day

The day went by quickly at work. It seemed like it was over in a flash. The kids at school did really well yesterday with the lesson and I was on my "A" game teaching. At home it was alittle tougher, I took the girls out to pizza and then to church for Adventurers, SDA scouting. Afterwards it was home and bed. Once they settled in and my wife arrived home, I went for my walk to clear my head and then off to bed.

Three quick breathes

Just taking three quick breathes before I do anything this morning so I don't say or do anything I will regret.  The girls are in rare form and ready to go way too early for me this morning and I am not working into their program. So let the battle of wills start and let us see who wins.

A little break

Had a great time these last four days off. Nothing too exciting, but some good time with the girls and Debbie. I did go to Farrell's and ate a "Pig's Trough" which was pretty gross since I really don't like ice cream.  It's a double banana split with everything on it. We also went to Bass Pro Shop, which the girls love and Debbie dislikes and a short hike up at the Oak Glen Nature Conservatory. Church, Sabbath School and Choir practice are always nice to go to. I also finally started to get a handle on some of the yard work that I have been ignoring for awhile. I think I am absolutely task driven when I get things done I am much happier. Well time to get ready for work and wake-up the girls.

Good

Aim above morality. Be not simply good, be good for something.
Henry David Thoreau

Rough Night

It was a rough night last night. Both girls had a really tough time getting to sleep and I think Izzy sick. It's a cold, blustery day here in Beaumont. Debbie is staying home from work with Izzy and I'll take Amber to Mimi's house for the day. Tonight I have my Educational Leadership class and I am really pretty excited about going to school again.

Sometimes

"I think this man might be useful to me - if my black dog returns. He seems quite away from me now - it is such a relief. All the colors come back into the picture." - Winston Churchill

Disneyland

What a place to go with two little girls. Izzy, Amber, Debbie and I went to Disneyland yesterday and had a great time. I think the biggest thing the girls did was seeing Tinker Bell. Merry Poppins boyfriend gave Amber a flower and told her to give it to Tinker Bell, he said it was from Peter Pan, but I have a feeling after looking at her that it was from him. On the way home we stopped at the Old Spaghetti Factory and it was good as usual.

Just sometimes

Do not brood over your past mistakes and failures as this will only fill your mind with grief, regret and depression. Do not repeat them in the future.
